Today’s New Normal Isn’t Really

The term, the “new normal” is one that is resonating in every corner of the globe. I have a different take on this which in my opinion, in order to there to be a new normal, it would seem that what was in place prior to the horrific toll of coronavirus that has impacted every human in some capacity, it would mean that systems, practices and even societal views that were in place prior to the pandemic were solid, not requiring change. We all know too well that things must change continually, that is how we improve upon what currently is in place. As today’s leaders are trenching forward, it is important to understand that as we recover from this current state, we should not go back to the old “normal” and attempt to replace it by slapping the word “new” in from of it. Instead, if we want to turn the negative stench from the effects of the virus into something beneficial to all people, let’s embrace what we’ve gone through and look at ways of doing things better, writing new policies, implementing new practices that work better than the old.

I truly believe that this is a time to reimagine and invent ourselves. Going forward from this day, the way we work, the way we connect with people and the way we live will look and feel different. It isn’t a new normal, it will be different and in some instances for some, even better. Recovering from a pandemic of this magnitude is not going to be an easy task and there will be setbacks along the way for those unprepared. However, it is also a time where we can take the lessons learned from our own experience and those of others and use it as a valuable lesson to advance new ideas in a new era.

Reinventing oneself can be done and The Karla Rhay Group will be there for you.
